Cast #3
Thanks John,
The term blowout comes to mind when describing the football game last weekend. On Saturday, the now #22nd-ranked Syracuse Orange made little work of Wagner, having a standout victory of 59-0. Putting a fifty-burger on any team feels good, but it feels even better when your bell cow running back rushes for a career high in yards. It wasn’t just Sean Tucker who was “pleased” with his performance, as Head Coach Dino Babers congratulated the sophomore, all while highlighting his modest attitude.
Tucker had almost half of the Orange’s total rushing yards in the game, along with 3 touchdowns to boot. While the squad will be resting up this week due to their bye, #34 and company will be back next Saturday to face 10th-ranked N.C. State. Join us next weekend at 3 pm for Countdown to Kickoff.
Shutout victories seem to be in season, as last night, the 11th-ranked field hockey team smashed Stanford 4-0. The Orange, now 11-2 on the year, look to ride their win streak throughout October as they have now won 4 straight. The team faces Cornell this Sunday, hoping to increase that number to 5.
If you didn’t see last night, the Mets beat the Nationals 9-2, closing out their regular season with a record of 101-61. This is only the fifth time the Mets have won 100 games in a season, and they look toward the NL Wild Card to continue their year. Now, they have a tough matchup, as the Padres won’t give them an easy series. Look for New York to rely on good pitching and timely hitting to get to the NLDS.
